Welcome to FGCU!  My name is Ashley Izzo and I am entering my third year here at Florida Gulf Coast University .  My major is Elementary Education and I plan to be teaching third grade in the future.  I recently moved here from the Northwest to escape the cold weather!  I have a very laid back and silly personality, that I know you will get to see at Orientation.  This is my second year as an Orientation Leader, and I am really excited about it.  I enjoy going to the beach, scrap booking, running, swimming, hanging out with friends and meeting new people.  My father was in the Military, so I was able to have the opportunity to move all over the country.

My first year at FGCU was amazing.  There was always something happening on campus to get involved in.  Now after my second year, I am still very active in the University. I am currently involved in the Student Government Association, Intramural Tennis, and *Greek Life*.

One Piece of Advice I would give to incoming freshman would be to be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. --Dr. Seuss
