My name is Nate Shrimplin and I am beginning my second year at FGCU. I am majoring in history with aspirations of becoming a professor and hopefully receiving my doctorates degree before I'm 28. One of the many motives for why I decided to go to FGCU was because of the class size. I love that professors encourage the students to ask questions and are willing to help out on a 1 on 1 basis; seriously, it's like a private school. I am part of intramural flag football and Phi Eta Sigma. I like to play all sports and am always up for a good challenge or pick up game. I am pretty laidback and like to have a good time and I know we will have a blast at orientation.

I moved from Illinois to Naples when I started my freshman year at Gulf Coast High five years ago. I'm very personable so feel free to come up and ask me anything that you would like to know or just to talk, I'll never get mad if you ask a question or want to talk! My main advice for all of you incoming freshman is to make sure that you manage your time right. That is so vital to having a successful year as well as making your life a lot less stressful than it is. Get a dry erase board and write down everything that you have to do and you will be amazed at how much smoother your year will go. Also, don't forget to go to class!
