Advisement preparation checklist:


1. Check your student holds via GULFLINE under menus
    Student & Financial Aid
then Student Records prior to advisement.

2.  If any holds exist other than the AF (Freshman Advising Hold) see
     the student hold key for steps to remove holds. 

3.  Review major track course recommendations

4.  Print & Review the General Education Checklist 

5.  Explore Colleges Programs & Majors 

6.  Print the class planner worksheet & record CRN's you intend to register

Note: Freshman students preparing for majors such as Business, Education, Biology, Nursing, and Pre-Professional (dental, medical, pharmacy, veterinary) must schedule their freshman year courses to meet prerequisites in a timely manner. Course sequences should begin in the freshman year.

First semester students commonly enroll in 12-16 credit hours:

 English: ENC 1101 Composition 3 credits
 Math: MAT 1033, MAC 1105, STA 2023, MGF 1106, MGF 1107   
*math class based on student Math Placement Test Score
3 credits
General Elective  3 credits
Social Science -or- Natural Science 3 credits
Social Science -or- Natural Science 3 credits

Second semester students choose 4-5 Classes (12-15 credit hours):

English: ENC 1102 Composition 2 3 credits
Math: MAC 1105, STA 2023, MGF 1106, MGF 1107 3 credits
Social Science -or- Natural Science 3 credits
Understanding Visual & Performing Arts:  HUM 2510 3 credits
General Elective 3 credits
