* Note: Students desiring courses offered through the Lutgert College of Business (i.e. Intro to Business GEB 1011, Intro to Computers CGS 1100, etc.) should contact: Lutgert College of Business Student Affairs: 590-7302 -or- Business Advisors Andy Macdiarmid (AMACDIAR@FGCU.EDU) or Marissa Ouverson (MOUVERSO@FGCU.EDU)

You may then contact the professor offering the course.  We suggest leaving a voice mail with the professor as well as sending them an email.  In these contacts be sure to communicate your full name and the 5 digit CRN (Course Reference Number) of the course in which you wish to enroll.  You may even want to cut and paste the course information from the website and paste it into the email.

To obtain any FGCU professor or staff contact information including their title, phone number, office location and email click here and enter the contact’s first or last name:

Request that the faculty member email your advisor permission for them to add the course to your schedule. (Emails must be sent directly from the professor to the advisor- no exceptions)

Note: If a course does not give a professors name and instead labels the instructor as "staff" you will need to contact the secretary of the college in which the course is offered under (the majority of these "staff" labeled courses fall under the College of Arts & Sciences). The secretary can then relay your request to the prospective professor.

Q. What are the rules for the 9 required credit hours to be taken over summer semesters? Go back

A.  All students graduating from FGCU are required to take 9 credit hours in the summer during the course of their academic career while pursuing their undergraduate degree. These 9 credits can be taken one class at a time in various summer semesters or can be taken together in summer sessions as well. It is essential that these courses be taken at FGCU or any 4 year Florida State University. Courses taken at community colleges or out of state schools public or private will not be applicable toward this requirement.  Students enrolled meeting at least 9 credit hours through dual enrollment, early admission, AP, IB or CLEP will be exempt from the summer credit hour requirement.

Q. What does the AF or Freshman Advising Hold on my record mean? Go back

A.  All students will have an AF or freshman advising hold on their student accounts and will make scheduling adjustments through first year advisors until they are within the semester in which they will complete at least 24 credit hours: within this semester they will then meet with their upper division college advisor.  Upon meeting with their college advisor students will be acclimated per their major choice and program of study and will develop an academic plan.  After this meeting the college advisor will remove the AF hold and students will have the freedom to web register (see academic calendar link below for open registration dates):http://enrollment.fgcu.edu/registration/AcademicCalendar.htm

Upper Division Advisor contact information please see link:  http://enrollment.fgcu.edu/advising/transition.htm

Note:  All students who are still deciding on a major choice will work with our College of Arts & Sciences advisors.

 Q. When will I be able to web register on GULFLINE?Go back

A.  When a student is within the semester in which they will earn 24 or more credits they will need to contact their college advisor to attend an advising workshop or one on one meeting.  College advisors will debrief students on the requirements for their major and will remove the AF (Freshman Advising) hold as well as the AV (College Advisor) hold, thus permitting web registration via GULFLINE.  For more information and college advisor contacts see this link:   http://enrollment.fgcu.edu/advising/transition.htm

Q. What classes should I take towards my major?Go back
